Our Story

Who We Are

Sustainable Africa Company Limited (SACL) was established in February 2024 in Tanzania, with expansion plans to Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa. We are dedicated to setting ethical and best practice standards while championing and accelerating individuals and organizations redefining sustainability across Africa.

Our approach is guided by three critical lenses: Gender, Climate Justice, and Human Rights. We believe that sustainable development must address these interconnected challenges to create lasting positive change across the African continent.

Through our comprehensive programs and services, we work with governments, NGOs, private sector organizations, and communities to implement practical, scalable solutions that create lasting positive impact while ensuring ethical standards and best practices.

Vision & Mission

Our Vision

To position Africa at the forefront of global sustainability leadership-through people, partnerships, and purpose-driven enterprise.

Our Mission

To transform the practice and profession of sustainability in Africa by equipping individuals and institutions with the knowledge, tools, and partnerships needed to embed ESG principles into strategy, governance, and operations-driving measurable impact for people, planet, and prosperity.

What Guides Us

Our Values

Our core values, expressed through African proverbs, guide everything we do.

Continuous Learning

"Wisdom is like a baobab tree; no one person can embrace it."

We believe knowledge is collective and ever-evolving. We foster a culture of continuous learning, curiosity, and shared insight-drawing from global expertise and African wisdom to strengthen sustainability practice.

Inclusivity

"There is always room for one more at the supper table."

We champion diversity, equity, and belonging. We create spaces where all voices-across gender, sectors, and communities-are welcomed, respected, and empowered to shape sustainable futures.

Innovation

"When the music changes, so does the dance."

We embrace change with agility and creativity. We design forward-looking, context-driven solutions that respond to evolving environmental, social, and economic realities.

Partnerships

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

We believe transformational impact is built through collaboration. We bridge public, private, and nonprofit sectors to co-create solutions that are scalable, inclusive, and enduring.

Enterprising

"No one tests the depth of a river with both feet."

We promote bold yet thoughtful action. We encourage innovation, calculated risk-taking, and entrepreneurial thinking to unlock sustainable opportunities and long-term value.

Sustainable Business Practice

"Do not call the forest that shelters you a jungle."

We uphold responsible stewardship of resources, people, and systems. We advocate for ethical, transparent, and sustainable business practices that recognize the true value of what sustains us-today and for generations to come.

Integrity & Accountability

"The truth is like the sun; it cannot be hidden."

We act with honesty, transparency, and responsibility. We hold ourselves and our partners accountable to the highest ethical standards-ensuring that our commitments translate into measurable, credible, and lasting impact.

"A Sustainable Africa Today, A Prosperous Africa Tomorrow."

This motto encapsulates our commitment to being agents of positive change, working tirelessly to ensure that Africa's development path is both economically viable and environmentally responsible, guided by our three lenses of Gender, Climate Justice, and Human Rights.
